I’m have many gems in my life, my husband Andrew, the main half WackyB, is one such gem, he can also be quite a handful at times but most of the time I wouldn’t trade him for my morning coffee

I’m also blessed to have 2 more gems in my daughters who at 17yrs and 18yrs come jam packed full of life, trials and tribulations, joys and tears, laughter, smiles and hugs…  they make me proud to be their Ma

My parents are also pure gems as they have ridden all our the highs and lows and have been there every step of the way, cheering and supporting from the sidelines.

Friends, be they online or offline, caching buddies, work colleague and neighbours are all gems too… in fact when you start to think about it I’m sure you’ll soon realise that your life is actually scattered with many precious gems… which is leads me to my next gifting idea…

In honour of all the gems in our lives we’re giving away 4 GeoGems™ during the month of February, these very unique trackables (yes, they are trackable at Geocaching.com, the tracking numbers are etched into the top of the gem) and like the gems in your life, these are really quite stunning and special.

So how will it work?

Like our Translucent Green and Glow Kiwi Nomad Geocoin giveaway we  wont be posting the GeoGems™  to the recipients, we will be releasing them (from Auckland, NZ) into the wild so they can travel to their final destination collecting miles, memories and photos along the way spreading the story of that special someone. We have 1x Green, 1xRed, 1xBlue and 1xClear GeoGem™  to give away, the colours will be selected at random.

Who can I nominate?
Anyone, but the final recipient has to be a member of Geocaching.com or part of a geocaching team. Your nomination could be that special someone that doesn’t always cache with you but is always supporting you from the sidelines,  it could be a someone that introduced you to the geocaching or helped you along the way or it could be in memory of someone special… gems are defined by the places in our memories and hearts not by locality

Who will the GeoGem™ belong to?
The recipient will be the owner of the gifted GeoGem™.

How will it work?
We will email the recipient the tracking number and activation code of the GeoGem™, the recipient will then need to login to Geocaching.com activate the coin and set the mission for it (who the special person is, where and how the GeoGems ™ is to travel, is there a particular cache the GeoGem™ should end up at, any special requirements etc).

They will then need to email us back with the mission details, the url of the GeoGem™ at Geocaching.com andy and any special instructions they have set.

We’ll then “grab” the GeoGem™ from them, pop a travel assistant and the mission details (which we will put on Rite in the Rain paper) with the GeoGem™ and pop it all in a nice, rugged plastic bag to help keep it clean, safe and secure on it’s journey.

At the first available opportunity we’ll then drop the GeoGem™ in a cache, take some photos and then log that it’s on the way. We can also send maximum resolution images to the recipients if they would like
